Henry Newman
CEO/Chief Technology Officer

Henry Newman joined Instrumental in 1992 and has served in senior HPC technology services and management roles since that time, most recently as Chief Technology Officer. Before joining Instrumental, Mr. Newman spent 11 years at Cray Research, Inc. designing complex, HPC systems.

Mr. Newman is an internationally recognized High Performance Computing (HPC) expert and sought after author and speaker. He has designed, analyzed and optimized over 400 of the most complex high-performance computing systems in the world. Mr. Newman has been involved in numerous projects working on behalf of the US Government, defense integrators and vendors in solving the most challenging HPC problems. He is a graduate of The American University.

Bill Zwicky
Vice President Operations

Before joining Instrumental in 2004, Mr. Zwicky was the Manager of IT Training Programs and Director of the Network Security Grant Program at Inver Hills Community College. Prior to that time, Bill was an IT manager for Land O' Lakes, Cray Research, Inc. and Silicon Graphics Inc. Mr. Zwicky began his career in high performance computing in 1990 where he held various positions in sales and marketing including Product Manager for the Cray T90, ESCON and ATM products. In addition, Mr. Zwicky spent time as the Technical Lead and Manager of System Administration in the Information Technology division. In 1987, he graduated from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

Bill DeSalvo
DoD Program Manager

Bill DeSalvo joined Instrumental in 2009. Since his arrival he has concentrated on architecting the integration of Workload Management and Storage Lifecycle Management systems across a federation of six HPC centers. Bill has held several technical positions in the high-performance computing industry during the past 25 years, including mathematical modeler, software applications integrator, systems analyst, and HPC systems architect. For ten years prior to joining Instrumental Bill concentrated on Distributed Resource Management (DRM) systems with a special interest in Computational Grids. Bill is based in Virginia and holds a Master of Mathematics from the University of Maine and a Master of Computer Science from the University of Delaware.
