Instrumental, Inc. Announces Management Changes
Bloomington, MN — September 3, 2008 — Instrumental, Inc. has announced that Mr. Paul C. Battaglia has joined the company as its Chief Executive Officer and a member of its board of directors. He will be located in the company’s new office in Reston, VA, to provide a stronger base for support and sales to Instrumental’s federal sector customers.
Mr. Battaglia has had an extensive technology career, which began in 1985 serving the federal sector in the Washington DC area. Prior to joining Instrumental, he was the President of Inxight Federal Systems, Inc., a developer of enterprise software solutions, which was recently acquired by software giant SAP. Mr. Battaglia is a graduate of Boston College and resides with his family in Great Falls, VA.
“We are very pleased to have Paul join us as CEO and lead our focus in additional business development efforts from our new office in the Washington area,” said John Bergstrom, Chairman of Instrumental’s board of directors.
In addition, Instrumental has announced that Mr. Kim Schumann, the Company’s President and COO, will be transitioning effective September 30, 2008 from his management role to become a Special Advisor to the Company on a part-time consulting basis, reporting to the CEO and the Chairman. Mr. Schumann joined Instrumental in 1996 to head up the Company’s on-site operations in Hilo, Hawaii, and then in 1999 he returned to the Minnesota corporate headquarters to assume the President and COO role.
“Although we are saddened about the departure of Kim as our President and COO after more than a decade of distinguished service to our Company, we are happy to have been able to make arrangements for him to remain part of our team in a Special Advisor role as well as to provide him time to pursue other business and personal interests,” said Bergstrom.
Instrumental, Inc. is a Bloomington, MN-based provider of professional services focused on advanced and high performance computing. Services provided include system architecture development and design, system benchmarking and optimization, technology performance evaluation as well as simulation and modeling. Current customers include U.S. contractors, U.S. government agencies and commercial entities.
