Chenega Federal Systems Awarded
High Performance Computing Contract

LORTON, Virginia — November 9, 2007 — Chenega Federal Systems (CFS) announced today that the Small Business Administration has awarded CFS a contract under the 8a program for Management and Technical Support Services for the Department of Defense (DOD) High Performance Computing Modernization Program Office (HPCMPO). The contract is Cost Plus Award Fee consisting of a base period plus four (4) option periods with an estimated value of $65 million. 

CFS will team with Instrumental, Inc., a leading high performance computing (HPC) professional services company and Chenega Technology Services Corporation (CTSC) to provide the HPCMPO with program management, administrative, high performance computing consulting, telecommunications and other program related services. 

The HPCMPO provides high performance computing and high-speed network services that enable DoD laboratories and test centers to conduct advanced technological research in an efficient and economical manner.  Weapons programs such as the Joint Strike Fighter, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and the Javelin Missile program have benefited from the advanced design concepts and efficient testing that the HPCMPO supplies.
